Portions of this blog obviously contain opinons. However, they are in general scientific opinions based upon studies by scientists qualified in the subject matter. However, there are a lot of miscellaneous thoughts too short for a full article. Below are some such thoughts.


7. Regarding fears that Methane from Siberian permafrost melt will continue to cause global warming, do I detect a dilema for the Extreme Greens? For years we have coveted and protected 'wetlands'. Isn't that what the permafrost is turning into? Ever think of the wetlands we have today? Ever hear the term 'swamp gas'? That is Methane. Now do we want wetlands or no? Unfortunately many of the greens do not think their way through today's latest headline. Today's effort to save the planet may well be tomorrow's big problem. 03/08/10

6. I have no proof as yet for my next statement so I am including it as an Opinon/Editorial. I keep hearing from Mr Gore's accolites that the warming has been most severe since 1976, the year satellites began measuring surface temperatures over broad areas. I cannot help but believe that these readings are somehow distorted. I wonder if they actually measure the surface temperature rather than the temperature of the air just above the surface. If so there is a huge difference. If you doubt this just measure the temperature of asphalt on a sunny Summer's day and then measure the air temperature four feet above it. There will be a huge drop in the readings. I say huge, I'm guessing ten degrees or so. More on this later as I have time to research it.

5. In the statement from a leading Green scientist that Nov 09-Jan10 was the hottest time ever for those three months (Which I deny but is not the point of this post.) the 'scientist' addressed why the 'heat island' effect doesn't skew his data. He stated that if there is a 1 1/2 degree bias due to the effect he simply subtracts 1 1/2 degrees from all weather readings for the last 100 years. He then states that the trend is identical with no change. He then smugly states "QED" which means 'see I proved it.' The heat island effect did not suddenly begin one day a hundred years ago. It gradually intensified as more equipment was added, as more asphalt was poured, as more cars came on the roads around the measuring station, as more houses and high rises were built. So if it is indeed 1 1/2 degrees now it was likely only 1/10th degree 100 years ago. When he subtracts 1 1/2 degrees from all historical readings he once more biases the data. These people are so desperate to validate their life's work that they have lost the ability to reason. I feel sort of sorry for them. Nahhhh! I don't. Why? Because they are so dangerous and want to change our whole society based on garbage, not science.

4. I blatantly plagerized this and adopted it from someone's comments about a political party and their ramblings and statements. I adapted it to my needs. "When we complain about the lies about man as a cause of global warming, it's sort of like wetting your pants when wearing a dark suit. You feel all warm and fuzzy about it but no one else notices." February 18, 2010.

3. HOW THE US DIFFERS FROM MOST OF THE REST OF THE WORLD: We have placed great value on truth in our society ever since this country was first settled by the English. In other countries corruption and graft was running rampant when they escaped Europe and still does. Others saw this example and Orientals and Germans and Spanish and many others came to enrich this country agreeing with the value of truth and Freedom. In their former homelands whatever you do is okay just so you make money at it and then others will admire and fear you. Since we came here we have fought for Freedon of Speech. Even when that speech does not agree with our views. However, as part of our beliefs we also allow others to expose what liars some people are. We allow these liars to be unmasked, often not a pretty sight. Cruel? Nope. Just necessary for well intentioned people to progress rather than to be misled by liars and others who would use them. What about our young people who jumped on the global warming bandwagon in well meaning hoards? When the Pied Piper lured the children away from their parents and roots in Hamlin it is significant to note that he didn't lure the adults away, only the children. Eventually perhaps our 'green' children will attain mature and functioning brains. February 16, 2010

2. DEFINE CRETIN: I have described 'extreme left wing greens' as cretins. What does this term mean? After reviewing the dictionary perhaps I should become politically correct and apologize to all true 'cretins' for lumping them in with the greens. Cretinism is a condition of severely stunted physical and mental growth due to untreated congenital deficiency of thyroid hormones due to maternal nutritional deficiency of iodine. February 15, 2010

1. I agree with some of the Greens who are today saying that heavy snowfall can be a sign of global warming. However, this site has not decried global warming but rather man as a significant cause of it. How can there be more snow when it's warmer? As temperatures lower water falls out of the atmosphere. At about minus twenty degrees Fahrenheit the air reaches the point of the 'homogeneous nucleation' of water vapor. What's that mean? Normally water vapor needs a tiny nucleus to form a water droplet or a snowflake. This can be a tiny spec of dust or even a spec of pollution. At minus twenty this is no longer needed. One may assume that at minus twenty one degrees there is zero water in the air. It has all fallen out. Particularly at the poles this is important. When it's minus sixty at the poles there is no precipitation. There might be blowing snow but no additional snow is being created by the atmosphere. Therefore, as the air is warmer than it has been (at the poles, at the top of mountain ridges such as the Himalayas, central Canada, Siberia) it is normal that snowfall will occur more often than before.
