UK INSTALLS MICROCHIPS IN 2.6mm TRASH CANS TO FORCE RECYCLING

Opponents of government scrutiny and invasion of privacy have raised objections to the installation of microchips in 2.6 million trash cans. These chips are intended to monitor the amounts of trash people throw away. Fines have been promised for those who throw too much away. The move is an attempt to force people to recycle. I, for one, do not like government control and government snooping in our private lives. However, this time I agree with their government. Perhaps there are better ways to force recycling but I don't know what they are. I recently visited three states for several weeks at a time. Results were as follows: In Oregon everything is recycled. Even macaroni boxes, aluminum foil, etc. I applaud the people in Oregon who do so. In an affluent Florida neighborhood, recycling was at a minimum. "I don't have time for that. I'm too busy, etc." In North Carolina the excuse was given that people steal the square, plastic recycling containers and use them for storage.
